CNY holiday was spent at Masai house with my mum, bro and Dear. Dad couldn’t go as he had to work while sis and bro in-law is honey-mooning at Turkey now. We set off on Sunday morning. Took the train to Bugis and then took the CW bus to JB. The new immigration checkpoint at JB was nice and big but it was too confusing and a long way to walk. I still prefer the old one despite it being a rundown now. After we cleared from the checkpoint we went to City Square where Dear bought me 3 t-shirts and my bro also bought 2 t-shirts. It was at a bargain price I tell you. We took the public bus to Giant Plentong where we bought some foods to sustain us for our 3 days stay there. We supposed to have our lunch at ‘The Chicken Rice Shop’. But I think I got the place mix up. Ended up we ate at this food court. After the groceries shopping, we took a cab back to our house. Didn’t do much for the first day, just watching the TV and chatting. The following day, which was a Monday, woke up and had our brunch. Sat outside at porch and exchanging stories of our ‘kampung’ life when we were little. At about 3.30, we decided to have a walk to the supermarket which was way outside from the housing area. Thought of taking the shortcut but we changed our mind. It took us 30 minutes to get there (5 minutes if we drive). Got our food supplies for the day and we waited for a cab to get home but there was none in sight. So, we walked home and took the shortcut this time. It was a hilarious experience for me, bro and Dear. We had to get across this muddy place which we did and had mud all over our slippers and feet. It’s like a little trekking we did there. We walked barefooted all the way home which wasn’t that far and my mum was like asking why we got mud all over. We told her what we did and she laughed. We washed our legs and slippers at the porch and ended up washing the whole front porch as it was quite dirt. Took our bath, had dinner and we watch the DVDs we bought at the supermarket till 2am. Slept after that and woke up around 11am. Had our brunch and got ready to go back.
I’m glad my parents especially my dad, accepted Dear. After 8 years we’ve been together, they finally met and get to know him better. So no more hiding from them anymore. I’m so relieved. My prayers had been answered at last. And now, it’s my turn to get to know his parents. Hopefully it will turn out OK. I got to go to sleep now. Tomorrow is the CNY party and we having steamboat after that. Can’t wait. Ouhkies…nights people!!!
